This is certainly a different kind of recipe I usually post here. Very healthy and low cal, hah! And it isn’t because we don’t eat healthy around our house, but those recipes often seem boring to me, or obvious.
I realized though, that I search for those kind of recipes pretty often, so what is the logic of never posting them? No logic.
So here is my blueberry smoothie recipe, something me and my toddler son enjoy several times a week, and variations of.
Blueberry Smoothie
2 to 3 servings
6oz orange juice
4oz skim milk
2 cups blueberries ( I like to use frozen because they are available year around and make it awesome and cold, without need for extra ice!)
2/3 cup fat free vanilla greek yogurt
I love to put a scoop of protein powder, but it is certainly not needed
Put all the ingredients into your blender, set on pulse and then chop/mix. After a minute change to puree for another minute and then you are ready to serve it! If you like your smoothie less thick, add some more orange juice or milk. If it isn’t sweet enough for you, just add a little bit of sugar or whatever sweetener you prefer!
Quick, healthy and delicious!
This would be a great post workout drink!
I agree!
I love smoothies that include Greek yogurt! If I may, I’d like to invite you to submit your photos to the new YumGoggle, a photo sharing site with the philosophy that if you worked hard to cook it and photograph it, we should show it off! Hope to see you there soon!
